At current Hypixel studios have not given many details on the username reservation system all we know so far is the following :
“Hytale usernames will be unique. This means that there can only be one ‘Bob’ or one ‘Sally’. We understand how important names are to players, so we’re excited to let you know that we’ve developed a name reservation system that will become available at some point within the next few months. More details to come.”

The beta sign ups were announced along with the Hytale Trailer. On the signup a e-mail will arrive to your account confirming that you signed up to the beta successfully, and news surrounding Hytale!
If you want to sign up for Hytale Beta right now you can do that! The developers already have a page where you can sign up. This will also be the fastest way to know when the Beta starts, you will then be notified by email! To sign up for the Hytale beta, all you need to do is visit the Hytale Website and click on the join beta.
Unfortunately, there is currently no release date and we don’t really have a sense of how far out we are from the game coming out. Here’s information from their FAQ:
This date is still to be confirmed. We’re eager to get it into the hands of players but we want to make sure we do so at a time that makes sense. We want to be confident that we deliver a first impression worthy of player expectations as well as our own ambitions. Rest assured that we are ramping up production to deliver the game to you as fast as we’re able while also meeting these standards.
